Andre Michael Dillard II

Two Differenr People

You took my name on a warm stormy morning
You attacked with a smile a handshake no warning
I trusted, believed and worshiped your friendship
I rolled the dice and you busted my lip

You smashed the cup which was never full
I shown you how it was to really be ill
I conned you and expected no return
But you returned with a burn and I lesson I will learn

I find myself again lost in harmony
Wondering why you aren’t stood with me
Id protect you and help you towards the light
But you’re such a lover of the night

Am I the wind and are you the kite
Or are you the devil and im the light
Am I wrong and you are right
Indecision is the first incision of lonely fright

Sitting alone in a discrete place
Thinking of silk leather and lace
Apples and pears liquorice and fire
Malt and wheat is what you desire

Powder flowers herbs for hire
Who is the metal and who is the tyre
Who is the waterfall and who is the flow
Who do you impress apart from your ego

Who is the tie and who is the bow
The lift door opens and its your turn to go
As I carry into the world of creation
You sit in a puddle of self elation

Drowning in pity you beg me for fun
You don’t realise now that I have moved on
Your surrounded by puppets clowns and snakes
Living on the remains of your mistakes
