TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE SAILORS SLEEP

SAILORS SLEEP

Eyes are aching to call it a day

Mind is racing thoughts are at play

As I cast my line into the ocean inside

The time ticks away but there’s no where to hide

Swimming around seemingly lost at sea

Hoping my pillow will come rescue me

Send me to the place my captain says go

Don’t listen to the tide the voice that says no

An impenetrable shield of fog sets around

The night is almost over the suns doing its rounds

The expression and vision so eager to show

The waves come ashore the wind starts to blow

Heavier and heavier the buoys start to sway

The line is reeled in fresh for another new day
