Sleep…eternal sleep so deep Into the back of my mind it creeps, So discrete, Letting me think, The problems are gone so I blink, Once twice, am I asleep? I see a fountain, so I drink, Just to see a reflection inverted so weak, What I see is not meek, I still seek the truth, So hard to find and keep, But I keep thriving, In fact still surviving, Haven’t reached the end seems like I’m still arriving, On the endless road I’m driving, No one can bring me down, I float above the ground, People try to catch me now, But I’m nowhere to be found, Into myself I drown, Only seeing me, It’s so profound, No one’s listening, But I hear the sound, My heart’s beating at its own pace, Pounding harder with each embrace , The heavy air I taste, As the wind blows against my face, And once again I feel, My posture filled with grace, My head is lifted high I begin my race, Everyone attempts to turn me away, But I’m still in the lead I still remain First place, A name is so easily replaced, But there’s only one me, And that’s something that will never change.
